Global Immersive Option (GIO) Peru

The Global Immersive Option (GIO) is an international consulting experience that allows MBA students to complete their Strategy Field Study (601) requirement by working in teams with a firm in Lima, Peru on a strategic assignment, such as conducting research and understanding the regional context, improving operational efficiency, optimizing service delivery models and other defined objectives.

$500.00 (CAD)

Students must be selected prior to making a deposit. Deposits received from students other than those selected to participate will not be granted a space in the course.

To secure your space in the GIO - PERU program, please submit your $500 CAD deposit by Monday, July 6th at 11:59am (noon) EDT. Failure to submit the deposit by the deadline will result in the space being given to the next student on the waitlist.

Payment Schedule & Cancellation Policy:

Deposits are non-refundable except in the following circumstances: 1) a student is unable to obtain any financial assistance via the available bursaries (proof of application and refusal required); 2) full cancellation of the program by Schulich; 3) cancellation of the travel component only (*see below).

Payment for the remainder of the GIO Peru program ($ xxx CAD) must be made by August 7, 2026. You will receive a separate payment link closer to this date. Financial assistance of $1,500 CAD is available and additional details on process and disbursement timelines will be sent via email. This funding will be disbursed into your student account. You are advised to ensure that your mailing address and bank details are up-to-date in your York U Student Account. Participants are advised to purchase cancellation insurance to mitigate the risk of any personal emergency that may result in cancellation.

*If unforeseen circumstances result in the cancellation of the travel component by the Schulich School of Business, the projects will continue in a virtual format. In this case, students will receive a refund of all program fees paid. 

All participating students are required to comply with York University and the Schulich School of Business international travel protocols, including attending a pre-departure session, ensuring appropriate travel health insurance, completing the Schulich Travel Registry and submitting a liability waiver and emergency contact information.

The Schulich School of Business reserves the right to change or cancel this Program due to previously unforeseen requirements or circumstances beyond the control of the Schulich School of Business. The Schulich School of Business shall not be liable in any manner whatsoever for any losses, claims or damages resulting from such change or cancellation. The Schulich School of Business shall make all reasonable attempts to prevent the change or cancellation of this Program.
